Project Description

Carner Avenue Senior Center is a 12,303-square-foot, single-story facility located in North Charleston, SC. The center features a variety of amenities, including a fitness room, a fully equipped exercise room, multiple activity rooms, an indoor exercise pool, locker rooms, and two regulation pickleball courts.

The building is constructed with a structural steel frame and joists, metal stud walls, brick veneer, and cementitious siding. Architectural elements include aluminum storefront windows and doors, a standing seam metal roof, and a TPO membrane roof. Interior finishes include decorative ceiling clouds, custom casework and trim, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, ceramic tile on walls and floors, window treatments, and exposed structural ceilings with acoustic spray insulation. The pool area showcases exposed timber trusses and roof decking.

Exterior improvements include new asphalt parking lots, ornamental aluminum fencing, multiple outdoor seating areas, brick paver walkways, two regulation pickleball courts with a shade structure, a dry sediment basin, and a complete landscaping and irrigation system.
